House of 100 Rooms

The House of 100 Rooms, or Songyojong, is a typical residence for an aristocrat of the Choson Dynasty (1392-1910). Songyojong was built over about 200 years, starting in 1756. It's now a museum (designated Important Folklore Material No. 5) which includes tool and clothing displays, but part of it is also still in use as a residence.

Songyojang actually has only 99 rooms -- only royal residences were permitted to have 100 or more rooms.

Songyojang and Ojukon are both near Kyongpo Lake in Kangwon Do.
