The Millenium Hourglass at Jeong Dong Jin Beach

Margaret and her friend TJ pose in front of the Millenium Hourglass. The Hourglass is made of stainless steel. Sand began trickling through it on the first of January, 2000, marking the time to the beginning of the new millenium on the first of January, 2001. The symbols around the clock are the Chinese zodiac signs.

This photo was shot in March, 2000; you can see that nearly one-quarter of the sand has run out.

As it turned out, the hourglass was right on time. Margaret was at Jeong Dong Jin again on New Year's Eve, this time with her friend Christine, to watch the sand run out and to see the hourglass turn over.
