Koreans love to hike their mountains, and Odeasan National Park is a popular weekend destination.
The map shows the locations of two Buddhist temples in the park,
Sangwonsa
and Wolcheongsa with its
9-story pagoda,
and indicates the many hiking trails and peaks. Note the reference in the lower right to the
Sangwonsa Temple Bell,
said to be the oldest surviving temple bell in Korea. Like many public facilities in Korea, the map is bi-lingual. English is a widely used second language in this nation, the one likely to reach the largest number of travelers from all over the world. It's no wonder that native English speakers are so much in demand as teachers in Korea.
